1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬ ‭(ESV)‬‬

Do you ever look at society today and wonder if we are witnessing the labor pains that are mentioned in Mark 13?

Do you ever worry that you will face any of the wrath of the coming great tribulation ?

In Romans 8 we are reminded that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. We will face persecution in a world that hates Jesus, but we will not suffer the great tribulation which happens on a global scale.

If we take a look at the Letter to the Church of Philadelphia in Revelation chapter three, we get even more clarity.

10 Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. 11 I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.”

Here Jesus is revealing to the human author John, and to the Church of Philadelphia, that because they have remained faithful, because they have lived for Him, they will be kept from the hour of trial that is coming to the world. He will not sustain them during the tribulation, but instead keep them from the tribulation.

Sometimes it is difficult to look around and see the moral decline of our society. Sometimes it can feel like Satan is winning every battle. However, we know how the story ends. We serve a God that has the keys to death and hades, and will defeat evil once and for all. Go out and make disciples, and live with the knowledge that we will not face condemnation, for we are with Christ.

Prayer: Dear Lord, may we trust you in all we say and do. Help us to be more like the members of the Church of Philadelphia who kept your word and did not deny your name. Lord, we know all those that are in your avoid condemnation. Help develop in us the strength to walk in faith each day, so that our future is certain. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
