Praying for an Open Door

10APR24

2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.

Colossians 4:2-4 (ESV)

How often do we pray for an open door to speak the truth of Christ?

Here Paul was in prison and asking for prayers that a door may be open to declare the good news of Christ. It is important to note that declaring the good news of Christ is why Paul was in prison.

Do we have this type of faith?

For some believers it is difficult to share the good news with others when presented with the most optimal circumstances. Here, Paul is in prison for declaring the good news, and says God give me more.

Prayer: Dear Lord, give us an open door to declare the gospel. Give us the strength so that when we are presented with an open door, we walk through it fearlessly to proclaim truth. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
