17 And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but the sinners.”

Mark 2:17 (ESV)

This was the response from Jesus when the scribes and Pharisees asked why he was dining with sinners and tax collectors. The amazing truth is that we are the sinners and the tax collectors. We are those who are sick and in need of a physician. Jesus is the healer we need, he is the almighty, he is the Savior, and we can rejoice in the fact that he came to call us.

We all fall short, we are all broken, but none of us are too far gone for healing. If we put our faith in Jesus Christ, he will renew us.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for sending your Son to call us. We are sick and broken and have no hope without Jesus. Let us live each day with faith and a renewed joy, because he gives us life. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
