HBO eyes Targaryen “Game of Thrones” Prequel
After Game of Thrones ended earlier this year, fans began searching for a new high brow fantasy series to fill the void. However, viewers don’t even have to change the channel from HBO to get more of George R.R. Martin’s world.
This week, it was announced that HBO was close to securing a pilot order on a Game of Thrones prequel focused on the Targaryens, which will reportedly be set 300 years before the events of Thrones…which happens to be the same time frame as Aegon’s Conquest, the event that caused the formation of the Seven Kingdoms in the first place.
The project is said to be based on Martin’s Fire & Blood book and will be written by Martin and writer Ryan Condal.
